Spring
2011 registration:
-
Engela Edwards will direct two 40-minute touring
shows this spring (one in Austin and one in Bastrop). They will be
for the performers who want to perform at the Annual Youth Theater Conference.
I am going to bring a mixed age group of my Fall semester kids. They
must be able to handle the 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily conference schedule.
I will choose a script, meet with the performers, cast the show, and then
they will come back with their lines learned, and we will do an intense
2, 3, or even 4 day-a-week rehearsal schedule during the Month of May (depending
on the complexity of the script I choose) and perform in Bastrop the first
weekend in June, and then go to the Youth Festival June 8 to the 12th in
College Station. The touring shows are for the most dedicated performers,
since it requires more time, money, flexibility, and a parental commitment
at the Festival. Parents attend the festival with their child unless
they can get another parent to be responsible for their child at the festival!
Cost for the performer will be $160 for the semester which includes the
festival fee for all performers who successfully complete the rehearsal
and performance, but does not include the performer and parent's room,
board, travel expenses or the parent's room and board and festival fee
of $70. Note in Bastrop the rehearsal times may have to be after
traditional school time since there will probably be performers who attend
public school and are in the show.
Go here to read more and register now
to register for the Festival
Touring Troupes. Dec. 15 is the deadline.
http://easytheatre.com/spring-2011.html
-
Registration for those actors who are NOT
interested in touring has also begun.
There should easily
be enough to do at least one early group, and one after-school group.
The easiest way
to make sure a class doesn't make, is to wait until the last minute to
register.
Also you risk the
group filling up, and being put on a waiting list if you wait too long
to register.
Registration deadline
is January 15, 2011.
Go
to http://bastropoperahouse.com/classes.htm to register for the Non-Festival
/ Non-touring groups.
Spring Deposit only
$25.
